- My name is Julia McAlee, and I'm an Actress/Singer/Songwriter based out of Los Angeles, CA.Born in Baltimore, Maryland, I've always been really creative, and well, kind of a weirdo. I've been singing and performing since before I can remember. As a young adult, my journeys have taken me across Europe, Australia, South America, and the US, where I've made music, appeared in films, studied, had strange and wonderful adventures, pined after cosmic communion, gotten sexy, climbed through catacombs, and chased elusive dreams. After a stint in the Pacific Northwest, I plopped down in Los Angeles in January of 2010 to pursue acting and music more vigorously. In this crazy jungle of a city, I continue my music-making, film work, training, auditioning, and schmoozing.My deepest desire is to be a part of making art that is new, honest, and awesome, and to connect with people who are not afraid.Oh, and having fun is also good.

You know you wanna.May 2013: Appeared as Lydia in "Dead of Night: The Manson Tunnel Murder" on ID: Investigation Discovery Channel.March 2013: Shot the indie thriller feature film "The Fetish Set" in San Antonio, Texas, alongside an amazing cast: Bill Oberst Jr., Sarah Nicklin, Glenda Galeano, and Tomiko. It's already gotten some great press, including this exclusive in Fangoria, and some great horror blogs.February 2013: Starred in "Tim's Problem" - an episode of the comedic series Super Sunday, written and directed by Ryan Constantino.November 2012: Appeared in the "Got Rights?" video for The ERA Education Project. It's a great cause - check it out!August 2012: My new pop single ANIMALS is available for free download here. I'm really excited about this track! It's produced by the very awesome R. Walt Vincent, who has also produced Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Tommy Keene, The Format, and lots of other awesome artists. Truly, I am honored to be in such good company.July 2012: BUMMER SUMMER, written/directed by Zach Weintraub, is an independent film in which I play the leading lady. It's now online for viewing or download here on Amazon, Cinecliq, or Bigstar. Thanks to Interactor Media for the distribution. The San Jose Met Blog says: "This is hands down the most gorgeous black and white film I have ever seen."July 2012: A Polish translation of a photography book by Neil van Niekerk came out, and I'm on the cover. Sweet!
